We mostly start with a 40 min to 1 hour introduction session. The focus here is to establish rapport and understand the issue, history and relationships of an individual. Once there is clarity on what is to be addressed and goodwill is established between the two, the counselor attempts to help to formulate a goal that works for him/her.
Most of the time, sessions are scheduled once a week and the counselor and clients talk through how many sessions might be needed, and when they might check back on progress or closure, etc, presently our counselors are arranging meetings and sessions online and offline both as per the requirements of a client. The counselor may meet to explore any particular aspect of the relationship in greater detail, however, the focus will be on the problems/troubles that the client is facing physically and mentally.
In counseling, there is often a greater use of techniques and tools or  healing and therapies including

“homework “and ‘creative activities’, are usually cognitive developmental exercises for the clients to think positively about the current situation.

Couple counseling is done separately if the client has agreed. The intent is to help the clients through their individual needs, desires, and expectations.

On an average, counseling relationships can last anywhere from 2-20 sessions, however for some individuals and it can be less/more. Sessions depend on an individual’s requirements.
